Josber, this is the album that I went to the store and bought for MJH to hear along about late 1964 or 1965. MJH, my father, and me listened to it on our old hi-fi record player: http://www.wirz.de/music/hurtfrm.htm. It's the "Blues At Newport Part 2". Sorry that you have to scroll down to find it.

Well, this is really a great collection, recommended! Fine sound too.

I guess the only way to get all MJH's  recordings from Newport is to get this Universe release "Live At Newport". Seems to be out of print though.

Calvin "The Hoy Hoy Boy" Passes

One of our members here, Calvin "The Hoy Hoy Boy" Baldi, passed away recently at age 15, and Calvin started this very thread back on December 12 of last year. If you'll remember, he always used the logo "MississippiJohnHurt1928" here and at the Blindman's Blues Forum. Funny thing, I was just getting ready to send him an email to ask him to come join my new site:http://www.mississippijohnhurtnews.com, when I heard of his passing. My sympathy for his family and friends.

Thank you, Ian. There's a guestbook over on the Blindman's Blues Forum called "Calvin's Book Of Remembrance" if you'd like to sign it.

I received your request to join the new MJH forum, as I would have loved Calvin to have done. YOU are approved and you'd be most welcome. Feel free. My apologies for it not being quite ready as of yet. I'm still working on the forum section, plus, propagation has to set in, but it should be ready no later than tomorrow.
